Jules and I met at The Old Toad back in October of 2003, thanks to my Mom and Dad. My Parents were having a beer at The Old Toad and decided to give me a call on my cell phone to ask if I wanted to come down to have a beer with them. I was with my friend Kevin at the time, and we decided to swing by. Kevin and I were playing a game of darts and all of a sudden this funky blonde comes rolling out of the kitchen. My Mom, being already aquainted with Jules, introduced me to her. My thoughts? "Well here's another good looking girl that isn't looking for a serious relationship." I mean come on...she's young, beautiful, down to earth and works at a pub. Like anyone would think she was looking for someone to settle down and start and life with. Well any who...I started meeting my parents at The Toad for beers on and off for the next couple or months not knowing Jules was even interested in me.

One day my Mom mentioned that her and my Dad were going to meet me out the following Wednesday night at The Elmwood Inn because my friend Kevin hosts karoke there. Jules overheard her saying this and asked if she, along with some friends, could come as well. Of course my Mom said yes. Wednesday night came and my parents and I got to The Elmwood around 9PM and got some food. I made a bet with my Mom (for 5 bucks) that "Jules and Company" wouldn't even show up. Well around 10:15 they showed up (yes, I paid my Mom the $5). Jules came in, sat next to me, and we talked for about 2 hours. It was getting late and my parents wanted to take off. Unfortunately, I rode with them so I had to leave as well. I said my goodbyes and turned for the door. All of a sudden, I heard someone say, "Do you want my phone number or what?". I laughed, went back to the bar and Jules and I exchanged numbers. As my parents were dropping me off at my house, I got a text message on my cell. It was Jules asking me if I got home OK. I went inside and we text back and forth for about an hour. Jules eventually gave me a call and we talked for awhile, set up a "date" the following Friday, and then called it a night.

That Friday morning, I got a text from Jules asking me why guys hate to go shopping. Obviously, this was a weak, but effective, attempt to ask me to go with her, so I accepted. We spent the day together and had a conversation that we were both just looking for someone to hang with...nothing serious (yes, we both lied to each other). Later that evening, we had our first date; dinner at California Rollin' and a night of dancing at Vertex. We never made it to Vertex because during dinner Jules's jeep was broken into and her stereo was stolen. Of course, no one wants to go dancing after that, so Jules asked if I just wanted to go back to her place and watch some TV (The Cosby Show). We spent the rest of the evening together and have been together ever since.
